Analytics Fellow Program

Program Overview

This six-week Analytics Fellow Program was inspired by two significant projects in my professional journey.

  1. The program structure is rooted in the workflow of my past internship experience — a process where I received a problem, a pile of data, weekly feedback sessions gathering more context, and progressing step by step. The culmination is the creation of a mini Excel dashboard that I presented during job searches.

  2. The content of this program, however, is derived from another expansive project I led in the past — an enriched experience across various areas, including predictive analytics, dashboard design, business models, clinical workflows, and effective stakeholder communication.

This program is not just about learning; it's about blending content and process for a holistic, job-ready skill set.

Our Program Offerings

Step into a holistic experience mirroring a journey I undertook during my internship at a specific company—let's call it "Green Apple Medical".

Your journey kicks off with the introduction to a tangible problem and a dataset, marking the initiation of this exploration - “How to effectively manage High Risk Population’s overall medical cost?

Why we picked this problem: Value-Based Care focuses on delivering high-quality healthcare while optimizing costs. Efficiently managing the medical expenses of high-risk populations is the key to be successful in the Value-Based Care market. We will cover more details in the first week content.

Each subsequent week will guide you through a process, starting with getting to know the business, the company, meeting its people, and delving into the stories behind. As your understanding deepens, you'll continuously refine your solution with the existing dataset. Throughout this process, I'll provide feedback and context to aid your journey. Ultimately, we'll collaboratively craft a dashboard for you to present in the end of this program.

Additionally, I'll share the answers I generated during the real-life scenario at that time. While not necessarily the best solutions, they represent my practical experience.

Fitz

I began my career as a dentist in Shanghai, China, working in a dental hospital over a decade ago. Seeking a new challenge after experiencing burnout, I transitioned to the United States to pursue a Healthcare MBA program.

Throughout the program, I completed two internships that immersed me in healthcare data analytics. This Analytics Fellow Program I am providing was inspired by that experience. Applying this newfound knowledge, I embarked on my journey as a Clinical Analyst.

My professional path led me through various healthcare organizations, where I progressed within the analytics and strategy domain, ultimately reaching the role of Director. To drive scalability in analytics, I transitioned into Product Management.

Presently, I hold the position of Senior Product Manager at a Healthcare Analytics Company in San Francisco.

You can find me on 小红书, where I share my professional experiences.
